BA3103/24: Ted Oliver at No. 8 Well, Canning Stock Route. Note the pulley be means of which horses or cales were used to pull water for the cattle. At extreme right may be seen a survey peg placed by surveyors Paine and Allsop 1929.

BA3103/25: At the south end of Windich Spring and right on the edge of the West bank, we located the tree which Forrest had marked.

BA3103/26: The blaze was enormous and we found out later that dogger A.G. Herbert had beaten us by 43 years and chopped into the tree in an attempt to find the figures placed by Forrest. We again clean up the blaze.

BA3103/27: We placed a plaque on the tree stating "Forrest Ecpedition 1874 F Geraldton Historical Soc. 1974" Mechanic Steve Kennedy, Mr & Mrs Len Teakle.

BA3103/29: Our vehicles parked in the whitegum thicket surrounding Pierre Spring Forrest named this to honour his Aboriginal helper Pierre.

BA3103/31: Further along the Canning Stock Route at Weld Spring were the remains of the stone hut Forrest erected. The tree containing letters F46 (camp 46) was removed to the Perth Museum about 1941 and the shrub to the right grows from that tree root. O
