During an event called Fleet Week in Albany the United States navy Great White Fleet visited Albany 11-18 September 1908. The Great White Fleet was the popular nickname for the U.S. battle fleet that completed a circumnavigation of the globe from 16 December 1907 to 22 February 1909.
