Item Detail
Summary
Photographs of the Coogee Beach Jetty, south of Fremantle, and the young people who gather there in summer for some risky jetty jumping, 2020-2022 (x 12 digital images). This series captures summer fun at Coogee Beach where energetic and intrepid young people including Fijian and New Zealanders come and play, leaping off the jetty. It’s an interesting microcosm of that part of Cockburn. This series also documents the Coogee Beach Jetty which has been used for recreational purposes since the original was built in the early 1960s. It originally had high deck level with a low -level platform constructed at the offshore end, and this can still be seen although much of the lower platform was removed in the 1990s due to structural concerns.
