Summary
Published caption: Over twenty years ago this motor body, claimed to be the first of its kind in W.A. was built to the order of Mr. S. Copley, by Mr. A. T. Wardle, contractor (now A. T. Wardle and Co.), of Fremantle. The 'bus ran in opposition to the then privately-owned tramways from Perth to the suburbs. Constructed of oak, with metal panels, This bus presents much the appearance of present-day tram cars. The vehicle and the garage in which it was housed was shortly afterwards destroyed by fire. (Sunday Times 16 August 1925, p.1). The fire referenced in the caption occurred 13 September 1907.
