Debra (Deb) Barnes, a teacher, born in Daylesford in Victoria in 1962, shared her life story, growing up in Perth as a teenager, her struggle with her sexuality and her journey as a lesbian. Deb talks about her relationship with her father and family, her ex-husband, her partners and her working life as a lesbian. She talks about how joining GALSWA choir was a difficult decision, as it meant she has to be prepared to come out in public about being "gay". However, she met her partner after joining the Choir has changed her life by providing great opportunities and personal growth.
