Vanessa Thornton discusses her experience of performing and seeing bands at the Rosemount Hotel. Vanessa is one of Perth’s most loved musicians, having performed with Jebediah since the mid-1990s. She has also performed with End of Fashion, Felicity Groom and the Black Black Smoke, Axe Girl and The Tommyhawks. She is a two-time WAMi Award winner, having been voted as Most Outstanding Female Original Bass Player in 2002 and Best Bassist in 2005. The heart of North Perth since 1902, the Rosemount Hotel – or the ‘Rosie’ as its affectionately known to locals, has been a champion of live music in Vincent offering a range of styles and sounds since the 1980s. Community is integral to the venue’s ethos, with local music events a core part of the Rosemount’s live music programming.
