Summary

Malaysia Hall Perth or Dewan Malaysia Perth (DMP) is owned by Government of Malaysia and is a reasonable price accommodation option for Malaysian students and visitors who come to Perth and manage by Education Malaysia Australia The Hall is open to Malaysians who are studying in Australia and Malaysians alike who are travelling to Perth. The building was constructed from 1896 and opened as the Stanley Hotel quickly changing its name to Newcastle Club Hotel. In the 1980s it became the Newcastle Club Tavern which included the Underground nightclub (see photograph with call number 312741PD taken in May 1984). From about 1995-1999 it was known as the Arcadia Hotel and from early 2000 as Underground Backpackers. It appears to have become Malaysia Hall Perth in 2014.
