Item Detail
Summary
Braddock’s Dispensary was a combined shop and residence built in 1899 for Charles Braddock, a pharmacist who had moved from Adelaide around 1895. Designed by architects Mills & Inverarity, today it still bears the name of the shop on the front pediment. C.H. Braddock advertised for tenders for the building of a brick shop and dwelling in Aberdeen Street in May 1899 (see West Australian 31/5/1899, p.6). The address was originally 194-196 Aberdeen St (see W.A. Post Office Directory 1901). It was occupied by an antique shop before becoming a cafe in 2018.
