Summary
The location of Lake Poulett, one of a chain of lakes around Perth. Lake Poulett was drained in 1872, and after serving as the town rubbish dump and then Chinese gardens, was partly used for the formation of Birdwood Square in 1914 (Sense of place : a response to an environment, the Swan Coastal Plain, Western Australia by George Seddon, 1972).
