Item Detail
Summary
The photographer attends a small gathering at Warmun Cemetery on Anzac Day remembering Aboriginal ex-servicemen including David Turner, Jimbo Johnson and Hector Jandany. NOTE: The photographs showing Hector Jandany's grave show that his name is incorrectly spelled Jandan on his gravestone. Hector Jandany (1929-2006) was a well known Aboriginal artist and ex-serviceman. Those present at the cemetery include artists Gabriel Nodea and his brother Mark who proudly wear medals awarded to them the week before Anzac Day for their service in Norforce.
