Summary
"The Coolgardie Waterworks Limited. At the invitation of the above company, through their legal manager, Mr. E. Graham Price, a large and distinguished party visited the site of the diamond drill. and pumping station, situated on the Hampton Plains Estate, about seven miles distant. The party, which included His Excellency Sir Gerard Smith, K.C.M.G., and suite, the Mayor of Coolgardie, and several members of Parliament, besides about 150 other visitors and local gentlemen of prominence, proceeded from Coolgardie in four drags and other vehicles." Reported in the Coolgardie Miner 27 March 1896, p.5. The company drilled several bores and piped water to the town of Coolgardie where they had a reservoir in Lindsay Street.
