It has an initial capacity of 60,000 seats with the potential addition of 10,000 seats. It comprises 5 levels and over 1,000 television screens. The stadium is wrapped with a bronze facade of anodised aluminium to reflect Western Australia's geology. The roof panels consist of 26,000m2 of PTFE (polytertrafluroethylene) lightweight water-resistant fabric divided into 49 panels and intertwined LED lighting can show home-team colours on the roof. 85% of the permanent seats are under the drip line. The first sports fixture held there was the Gillette One Day International cricket match between Australia and England on the 28th January 2018.
