Summary

Following a parade beginning in Fremantle, a large concert and presentation was held on The Esplanade in Perth. Performers included Jackie Love, Peter Allen, Rolf Harris (with his wobble board and painting) and Glenn Shorrock. An official Australia II Day was declared for the celebrations. The event featured the America's Cup, the boxing kangaroo, a digeridoo player and Aboriginal dancers, the Lord Mayor of Perth Mick Michael and the crew of the Australia II.
