Summary
Aviator Jim Broadbent (born Harry Frank Gibbs) completed a record round Australia flight in an Avro Avian IVM named Dabs in 7 days, 8 hours and 15 minutes, landing at Wyndham 9.5am 3 September 1931 and left for Broome at 10am. In 1935 he lowered Kingsford Smith's record of seven days, 5 hours to six days, 21 hours, flying a 200 h.p. Percival Gull. He held the Australia-England solo speed record in 1938. He was lost on a flight in 1958.
