Item Detail
Summary
The photographer comments against 338007PD and 378031PD: A stock of patterns. Comment by photographer: This image is significant as it shows the very acurately-made wooden patterns. Each is an exact replica of the part to be cast from it in iron. A sand mould was made from the pattern in the moulding shop. Patterns were re-used indefinitely. The pattern maker was a very highly skilled tradesman.
