Fanny Balbuk Yooreel, Charles Timbul, Ngilgi And Others At Welshpool Reserve (Maamba)

Summary

Charles Timbul (Timble) (seated at front centre) and Ngilgi (standing at right) were the first residents at Welshpool Reserve. Ngilgi [also Ngilgie, Ngilgee, Ngilgy] was born near Augusta in the 1840s and was said to have been raised at the home of Alf Bussell. She later became one of Daisy Bates most valued informants. Timbul was also from the Augusta area and after working on various farms in the south he was granted a reserve farming block in the Coolup area near Fremantle in 1894.
