Summary
Caption published in the Western Mail 29 May 1924, p.26: Bob Ramage, aged 59 years, who steered Carbine, carrying 10st 5lb, to victory in the Melbourne Cup of 1890. Of 11 starts, riding Carbine as a five year old he secured the premier place on 10 occasions. The veteran jockey is now working on Yuin Station.An obituary is published in The Argus (Melbourne, Vic.) 17 December 1925, p.4. The obituary notes that Bob Ramage was born Ramadge and he himself always used that spelling while all published references used the spelling Ramage.
