Summary
Book caption: The Murchison River has incised a spectacular gorge into the hard Tumblagooda sandstone which underlies the Kalbarri sandplain, and provides one of the finest scenic attractions of the national park. Acacia acuminata (jam tree) with scattered river red gums occupies the lower flats in the gorges and the river bed itself is lined by the latter (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) and Casuarina obesa with occasional Callistemon phoeniceus in the river bed.
