Book caption: In the eastern part of the Darling Range, with declining rainfall, woodlands of marri and wandoo replace the jarrah forest. Trees are shorter and more branchy, more open, and the composition of the understorey changes. The shrub layer is less tall and more scattered, and there may often be a predominance of poisonous legumes of the genera Gastrolobium and Oxylobium, whose leaves are toxic to grazing animals. However not all have been shown to be poisonous and the small yellow flowered species here, Oxylobium drummondii, appears to be innocent.
