Item Detail
Summary
Book caption: During the last fifty years the jarrah forest has unfortunately become subject to attack by a root fungus, Phytophthora cinnamomi, which causes the malady known as 'jarrah dieback'. The trees stagnate and eventually die. Poorly drained sites underlain by an impermeable laterite hardpan are the worst affected and it now seems unlikely that the whole forest is at risk. Research on the disease is in progress. Brookton Highway.
