Title is caption in album in the photographer's hand. On the Belhus farm estate in the Swan Valley. The area is now (2015) the suburb of Belhus. The watermill was a flour mill on Ellen Brook and is now known as Cruse's Mill, built by William Cruse in 1836. One of the men in the photograph is possibly William Cruise. William Cruise is found in some records as William Cruse or Cruze. His birth date is 1802 in some records and 1799 in others. From an album A.H. Stone gave to his daughter Fanny Hampton on 30th October 1868 as a parting gift before she and her new husband left W.A. on 14 November 1868.
