The five maps annotated by James Tregurtha show his exploration journeys in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Tregurtha was a gold prospector in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The cylindrical metal container donated with the maps was used to hold the maps as it was easy to strap onto a camel when Tregurtha was travelling in the outback.
