The royal couple spent the weekend of 21/22 May at Lesmurdie House. King George VI and his wife visited six days in Western Australia when still the Duke and Duchess of York from 18 to 23 May 1927. Details of the visit were published in the Western Mail newspaper 2 June 1927. [Cataloguer's note: the title Lord Mayor was accorded in 1929 so that J.T. Franklin in 1927 was Mayor of Perth]
