One of a series of interviews conducted by Christina Gillgren in preparation for her thesis entitled From aliens to ethnics : identity and citizenship in a study of Italians and Croatians in the Western Australian Southwest timber industry, 1919-1969. John Scott spent a lot of time near the Donnelly Mill in the early days after the war because he was in charge of construction there. He talks about his work in the timber industry and the various nationalities who were employed.
