Summary
Luggers at Streeter's Jetty, Broome. The Jetty, situated at the top end of Dampier Creek, was only accessible during the very high tides which are in excess of ten metres. When the tides receded luggers were left resting in the mud of the mangrove creek and, in order to prevent them from rolling too far over, were propped up by hessian sacks full of sand.
