Summary
In 1970 the old Fremantle Asylum was opened as a Museum. Now in 1971 stonemason John Dundoras with two assistants reconstructs the other wing which will become the Fremantle Arts Centre. The Gothic revival architecture of the building, made from local limestone, is retained, Old binding is cut away and replaced with new cement and limestone facing is cleaned. Replacement stones, shown lying near the building, are used where the stones have crumbled. Stonemasons are shown up scaffolding cutting away and rebinding where necessary. Good camera angles, clear establishment shots, with long and close-up shots show the stonemasons and the building to advantage.
