Summary

Photographs of Miss Winifred Wells and her Royal Enfield motorcycle before and after her journey across Australia, being presented a trophy and an engraved silver tray by Carl Cohen, Chairman of Carlyle & Co. The sign in the photograph at 234763PD reads: Welcome home Winifred Wells after a meritorious dash across Australia from Perth to Sydney and return to Perth, 5500 miles from 26th Dec to 16th Jan on a 350 Bullet Royal Enfield. In 241022PD-241023PD Miss Wells is receiving a silver cup from the Enfield Cycle Co. Limited on Redditch, England who flew the trophy out by airmail to be presented at the Claremont Speedway 28 February 1951. In 242301PD-242303PD Miss Wells is presented with a silver tray engraved with a map of her journey around Australia. The Chairman of Carlyle & Co., Carl Cohen appears in several photographs.
