Summary
Formerly 1058C.Original ms. field map created by Alexander Forrest on his 1871 exploration to the Russell Range in Western Australia from August 5th to November 22nd. Shows his plotted route from Perth to Lake Lefroy and east of Hampton Plains and southeast to about 123⁰30' on November 22nd 1871, thence southwest back to Esperance. MS. base map of the coastal area showing Edward John Eyre's track drawn by Survey Office similar to that supplied to John Forrest for his 1870 expedition to Eucla. This map was also mounted on linen and folded for carrying in a leather pouch. Devised title based on title of 1872 Survey Office map showing also the earlier tracks of John Forrest and Edward John Eyre (catalogued on .b1882562x.)
