Dated 1933? as this is the opening date for the Commonwealth Bank Building on the corner of Forrest Place and Murray Street and is the only time it is likely that photographers would be allowed into the building. See also a photograph found at call number 179060PD taken on the roof of the Commonwealth Bank in 1932 showing this view in the background. In the foreground left-right: Lyric House, premises of the music store Musgroves Ltd at 223 Murray Street; Equity Chambers at 229 Murray Street; Collins House premises of Wiseman Bros Pty Ltd at 233 Murray Street; Palace Book Shop at 235 Murray Street. This image has been found in two collections.
