Summary
In 1928-29 Charles Moore & Co extended their existing premises from Hay Street to Murray Street. The new addition included an impressive façade facing into Forrest Place. Part of the works included the installation of Perth's first escalator at a cost of £900. The Otis Waygoods model was installed by the local agents Unbehaun & Johnstone Ltd, and was capable of carrying 4,000 people per hour. (Information supplied Aug. 2016)
