Summary
Born Merab Harris in Wales, she arrived with her family in Fremantle in the last ship through the Suez Canal. She caught measles on board the ship and was hospitalised in West Subiaco. She narrates her early life living in Balingup near Nannup and Guildford. Her father was a veterinary surgeon who decided to move to Perth metropolitan area because of his career and his children's education. She attended Perth Girls' School from 1917 to 18. She talks about teaching economic history at UWA at Irwin Street and Crawley, Perth during World War II and her academic life.
