Summary
This film records the damage caused by the Meckering earthquake on Monday 14 October 1968 (Queens Birthday Public Holiday) and was taken the day after the event. It shows damaged houses, public buildings, churches, and banks. It also shows the damage done to roads, railway lines, the watersupply and the land. The emergency living arrangements and the work of civil defence groups is also shown.
