Summary
Date of event: 22 August 1947. Centennial ceremonies devoted to Lord Forrest, Kings Park and Claremont. Shows Fremantle harbour, boats, cranes and the O'Connor monument. Shots of Mundaring weir and pipeline and Forrest's grave at Karrakatta cemetery. Sir James Mitchell unveils a tablet to Lord Forrest in King's Park, Deputy Premier Watts gives speech (unrecorded). Re-enactment of exploration parties on horseback. At Claremont Showgrounds 5000 school children attend a pageant with historical floats depicting Lord Forrest's exploratory expeditions.
