Summary
Photographer's notes: BA2493/1664: Progressive construction of Yagan Square, viewed from the Urban Orchard. Site viewed westward, with Roe Street and the Horseshoe Bridge in foreground with the new amphitheatre and its raised canopy roof in view. Fencing separating the construction site from pavement. BA2493/1665: Progressive construction of Yagan Square, viewed from the Horseshoe Bridge. Shows up close the construction of the upper terrace (at left) which will house the amphitheatre, and the steps down to lower level connecting Yagan Square to the Perth Rail Station and adjoining Roe Street. BA2493/1666: Shows up close the construction of the upper terrace with its irregular canopy roof covering the amphitheatre. BA2493/1667: Progressive construction of Yagan Square, viewed from the Horseshoe Bridge. Shows the approach to Wellington Street, with the cylindrical LED video Digital Tower (test pattern in progress) which can broadcast real-time events on the outdoor screen. In foreground corten steel cladding is used on much of the Yagan Square structures.
