A nationally recogised leader in the Australia Arts field, the interview covers:- her early family life, growing up in Mosman Park; education ( St Hilda's School); studying for her PhD in music at the University of Western Australia - she speaks of her involvement in the campus community and activities during her studies; the influences of David Tunley and Sir Frank Callaway; her extensive career at UWA; Peter Foss and Arts Advisory Committee; executive position in Department of the Arts; government role and support for arts area; difficulties and conflicts related to arts funding (government and corporate); chair and workings of the Australia Council; philanthropy in the arts; children and the arts; UWA Press; chair of Perth International Arts Festival; the many boards which she sat on - WA Art Gallery, Perth Theatre Trust, Australian Business Arts Foundation. She was awarded Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in recognition of her work for the arts and education.
