Summary

38 letters and postcards dating from 1832 to 1912, from a much larger collection compiled by Dr Cecil Walkley. Notable among the correspondents are: Frances Louisa (Fanny) Bussell, John Garrett Bussell, Charlotte Bussell, Wallace Bickley, William Ayshford Sandford (Colonial Secretary), Rev. George Purvis Pownall (First Dean of Perth), Francis Corbet Singleton, George Walpole Leake, Henry Trigg, William Locke Brockman, Richard Goldsmith Meares, William Pearce Clifton, Thomas Carter and George King. A number of letters from convicts also feature in this collection including a letter dated 1852 from Thomas Futcher, a letter dated 1855 from Ludwick Konarzewski (also known as Francis Badowskie), and a letter dated 1870 from Henry Kerslake. The collection also contains illustrated postcards, and a collection of envelopes with advertising and branding from local Western Australian businesses.
