Summary
Robert McKeich describes the event photographed here as looking for relatives of Aboriginal people at Cundeelee. Others descibe it as: "The missionaries used to go out and "rescue" people from the desert." Many people were brought into Cundeelee from the Maralinga atomic testing area (Western Desert Regional Council regional plan, Cundeelee ward, 1996, p.10)
